DIY Amateur Radio

Presented by: KJ7WC (Bellevue, WA)

Radio communication is a valuable tool in the maker’s kit. The amateur radio service makes it easy to implement wireless communications into virtually any project. This exhibit showcases: a portable UHF repeater, fabricated from repurposed, commercial transceivers and custom electronics; autonomous weather balloon tracking, using directional antennas, based on GPS position reports; radio location on a small array using Doppler techniques.
