Presented by: Ingraham High School Rocketry Club (Seattle, WA)
Ingraham High School’s Rocketry Club presents their latest project, Student Launch Initiative (SLI). Hosted by NASA, SLI is a research-based experimental project where different teams create high powered rockets designed to carry and collect data from a scientific payload. This year, the Rocketry Club’s payload was a small wind turbine attached to a drogue parachute designed to collect energy from the rocket’s descent and give a return on the energy needed to launch it. The project was created to mimic NASA’s design process and to encourage students to participate in more STEM activities and get involved in the aerospace community.
