SeeEm Rig: A DIY Programmable Digital Imaging Rig

Presented by: Rinworks, LLC (Bellevue, WA)

SeeEm Rig coopts the precise xyz motion of a 3D printer for its own purposes by attaching a digital microscope (or microscopes) to the extruder, adding Arduino-controlled lighting, and letting its open source software directly control the motion of the printer and lights to achieve a variety of imaging goals, as well as just plain fun. While the project has several goals, including serious imaging, it aims to encourage people to explore the physical world through software, and in the process experiment with interesting algorithms and hardware integration.
